Max Air has returned N110,000 to the Bauchi-based teacher whose mother’s ticket fee was withheld after a cancelled flight in July.

The teacher was refunded on October 11, four days after FIJ’s publication on the delayed refund.

While expressing her gratitude to FIJ, the teacher wrote, “It is with immense joy and excitement that I write to inform you that Mom’s cancelled flight tickets have been refunded; in fact, it came as such a profound relief.

“God bless you so much. Thank you for helping. I can’t thank you enough.”

The Bauchi resident had earlier narrated how she booked a round trip for her sick mother and her caregiver in June.

Both the departure and returning flights were scheduled for July, but the airline cancelled the return leg of the trip in the early hours of July 13, the planned travel day.

Following the cancelled flight, the teacher tried all she could to recover the N110,000 air fare, but Max Air failed to refund the money.

Even when the airline told her that she would receive the money within a 21-day timeframe, Max Air did not keep to its promise.

However, after FIJ published a story on it, she got the delayed refund within a few days.
