Access Bank Plc has refunded N700,000 to one of its customers, a Lagos-based businesswoman whose money was wrongly debited in June.

The Access Bank customer got the refund at 7:15 pm on Thursday, one week after FIJ reported how she was debited for a failed transaction on June 27.

“Thank you so much, FIJ. This would not have been possible without your intervention. I’m very grateful,” said the elated businesswoman.

The woman had earlier narrated how she attempted to make a payment at a Point of Sale (PoS) terminal on the said day in June without success.

She later discovered that the bank debited N700,000 for the failed transaction, and her efforts, including visiting the bank and making phone calls, did not produce a positive result.

Frustrated by what she described as an “unacceptable and unfair” treatment from the bank, the woman reached out to FIJ, and she recovered her lost money after FIJ’s publication.
