Max Air has refunded N74,000 to Shehuaminu Salihu, the Lagos resident whose flight was cancelled in July.

This development came five days after FIJ published a report detailing the difficulties Salihu faced in obtaining the refund despite fulfilling the requirements.

Salihu had detailed the events surrounding the cancellation of his Abuja-Lagos flight on July 8. He had opted for a refund and followed the required procedures, including sending emails and attempting to contact Max Air’s customer care line.

Despite a customer care representative informing him on August 14 that he would receive a refund within 21 working days, Salihu reported not receiving any further communication from the airline. FIJ reached out to Max Air for comments at the time of the initial report but the airline refused to respond.

The recent development indicates that Max Air has since processed the refund for Shehuaminu Salihu on October 23, five days after FIJ’s intervention.
