Shehuaminu Salihu, a Lagos resident, has accused Max Air of ignoring his request for a refund of N74,000 after flight cancellation.

Salihu told FIJ that he had written to Max Air and called their customer care line several times after fulfilling the requirements for a refund to no avail.

He said that on July 8, a night before the supposed date of departure, Max Air informed him in an email of their cancellation of his Abuja-Lagos flight for operational reasons and asked him to either request a refund or reschedule.

“I chose the refund option and requested a refund. After I sent an email to them as informed, they did not acknowledge my mail. I called their customer care but it did not connect. On August 14, a customer care  representative informed me that I would be refunded after 21 working days, and that was the last time I heard from them despite attempting to reach out to them,” Salihu told FIJ.

“I am tired because I have tried all I can to get my money back but they have refused to do so. I bought the ticket on July 7 and it was cancelled a day after. Why can’t they give me my money back?”

FIJ emailed the airline for comments but they had not responded at press time.
