11.10.2021 news After Promoting Her Daughter’s Business, Ireti Doyle Distances Herself From Scam

Iretiola Doyle, a Nigerian actress and television presenter, has distanced herself from Kachi Beauty Products, her daughter, Kachi Onyeluo’s business after multiple allegations of fraud.

The 54-year-old actress posted on her Instagram page on Monday that she’s only the business owner’s mother and not affiliated with Kachi Beauty Products in anyway.

However, FIJ can report that Doyle promoted the business in its early stages, and that the supposed empowerment scheme attracted many young women and men both in Nigeria and in the diaspora, many of whom trusted Kachi mostly because of her mother.

Rosemary Ugorji, a victim, told FIJ back in April: “After I saw Iretiola Doyle advertise her daughter’s hair on her page, I decided I was going to get the hair. I went ahead to collect money from my customers to purchase hair for them.

“I ordered 82 pieces of hair and two mannequins for the tune of N745,000, which was to be delivered in August 2020. I wish I could turn back the hands of time because purchasing hair from Kachi is my biggest regret in this life.”

THE LATEST DENIAL

With her daughter’s scam being constantly linked to her, Ireti Doyle has made another effort to extricate herself.

“I have zero affiliations with or interest of any nature in Kachi Beauty Products and its board/proprietors. I do not and have never owned a share, been a director, been on the payroll or received any financial benefits from the said business,” she said.

“I implore all persons who have been adversely affected with their business dealings with Kachi to liaise directly with her or the appropriate authorities equipped to deal with such matters to resolve any differences.”

Onyeluo had been called out several times by her business partners as a fraudster. On Instagram, Kachi Beauty Products advertised a hair business scheme that promised to make wholesale distributors millionaires.

In October 2020, an advert read in part: “Join the Kachi hair beauty wholesale distribution scheme and become a millionaire before the end of the year.” But after many Nigerians invested in the scheme, she failed to keep her part of the bargain.

Kachi launched a distributor’s package, with purchases made in batches. Subscribers to the silver category paid N300,000, gold subscribers paid N500,000, while platinum and diamond subscribers paid N1 million and N5 million respectively.

However, over 60 subscribers said Onyeluo defrauded them to the tune of over N40million during the first quarter of 2021.
