In recent weeks, several social media users have circulated the same message advising breast cancer patients to email Dorothy Nyong’o, Managing Trustee of Africa Cancer Foundation, for free treatment.

These messages have circulated on WhatsApp, and recipients are advised to share and forward them to groups to “save that woman’s life” on or before March 7.

The message, seen by FIJ, read: “Goodwill message dear all. Please if you know of any lady battling BREAST CANCER of whatever stage, please advise her to contact [email protected] before 7th March, all medical expenses are free.

“Please don’t keep this message to yourself, share and forward to groups and save that woman’s life.”

CLAIM: Africa Cancer Foundation is offering free breast cancer treatment in 2024.

Claim circulating on WhatsApp as of February 5, 2024

VERIFICATION: FIJ checked the company’s website to see if the information was authentic.

On the website’s homepage, the Africa Cancer Foundation published a statement stating the trending message was false and that it was a venture they embarked on in 2022.
