Samuel Imakor, a policeman attached to the Iruekpen police station in Edo State, has been caught on camera assaulting a woman.

On Sunday, a video went viral showing Imakor slapping Mercy Ajayi, a woman he had arrested.

After slapping her, he said, “You de mad? You de mad? I have personal problem with… If na before, I would admit you with my money. I would send you to hospital. I would admit you. The spirit wey dem carry inside here… I am waiting for how this matter will end.”

On Monday, the Edo State Police Command arrested Imakor and ordered his orderly room trial.

In a statement signed by Chidi Nwabuzor, the spokesman of the police command, the Edo police said Imakor confessed to slapping Ajayi but alleged that she slapped him first while on their way to the station.

“The Commissioner of Police, Edo State, CP Funsho Adegboye, mni, ordered his arrest and the immediate disciplinary procedure known as the orderly room trial to be set up urgently against him by the command’s provost marshal,” the statement read in part.
