Moses Onoja, the Chief Executive Officer of Sun Energy Community Development Initiative (SECODI), has refunded N1.5 million to an FIJ source who accused him of refusing to refund her and her brother’s capital.

The much-awaited development came on February 28, when Onoja sent N1.5 million to the woman.

The recipient, who asked to be anonymous, told FIJ she was grateful to be a part of the many who have benefited from FIJ’s intervention.

“Thank you, FIJ, for coming through. Thank you,” she said.

Earlier, she told FIJ she and her brother invested N1 million and N500,000, respectively, in February 2022 with the hope of getting a return on investment.

As per their agreement, SECODI was supposed to pay the woman N25,000 monthly for 12 months, and her brother N12,500.

“Between February 2022 and January 2023, my brother and I received our monthly payments without any issues. In December, we informed the CEO that we would not be renewing our investment plan upon its expiration, and he agreed,” the woman told FIJ.

However, in the first week of February 2023, when they were expecting their final monthly payment, they received nothing.

She also said she assumed both the last monthly payment and their capital would be returned simultaneously, but she did not get it until FIJ intervened.
