Journalists covering the recent abduction of scores of schoolgirls in Jangebe, Zamfara, have been attacked by angry youths in the community.

The journalists attacked are correspondents of Thunder Blowers Multi Media services, Daily Trust, Channels TV, TVC and News Agency of Nigeria.

FIJ gathered that the journalists were attacked by youths in Jangebe communities as part of their demonstration of anger because of the abduction.

Some photos obtained by FIJ show how the angry youth smashed one of the official vehicles belonging to Thunder Blowers while one of the reporters sustained injuries on his head.

FIJ also learnt that the angry youth are currently obstructing security operatives, journalists and government officials from accessing the main town.

Barely one week after the abduction of dozens of schoolboys in Kagara, Niger State, armed bandits attacked Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata Mafara Local Government Area of Zamfara State on Friday, kidnapping dozens of schoolgirls.

Witnesses said the bandits stormed the Zamfara school, located on the outskirt Kwanar Bagare, around 1:40am after breaking the gate.
