A Federal High Court in Abuja has declined the request for bail made by Ramon Adedoyin, the owner of Hilton Hotel and Resort in Ile-Ife, Osun State.

Adedoyin, who was detained over the death of Timothy Adegoke, the OAU MBA student found dead near Hilton eight days after he was declared missing, filed the bail application on health grounds.

An affidavit signed by Segun Aworinde, Adedoyin’s younger brother, stated that the 64-year-old founder of Oduduwa University is hypertensive and diabetic.

However, Justice Inyang Ekwo declined to grant any of the prayers of Adedoyin’s legal team. Ekwo ordered him to serve the motion and other processes in the case on the sole respondent – the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) – and adjourned until December 9.

Timothy had travelled to Osun on November 5 to write scheduled exams at OAU’s Distance Learning Centre. He was declared missing on November 7 before and his corpse was found on November 15.
