Sikiru’s trip from Abuja to Lagos was first cancelled by the airline on Sunday. The cancellation, according to the airline, was for “operational reasons”.

“We regret to inform you that your Azman Air flight ZQ2323 ABUJA-LAGOS, MONDAY 13TH DECEMBER, 12:00 PM has been CANCELLED due to operational reasons,” the company mailed Sikiru on Sunday evening.

Sikiru told FIJ that he rescheduled his flight to Tuesday at 9:30 am. However, a few hours to take-off, a representative of the airline called to inform him he had to delay him by an hour.

“I gave him a green light to change the time and the new ticket was sent,” Sikiru said.

He did not know that the new ticket issued to him was for a Lagos-Abuja flight, instead of Abuja-Lagos, until he arrived at the Abuja airport an hour ahead of the new take-off time. Sikiru found out his flight had departed for Lagos.

“If they work with a reference number as the woman said, they should know the flight travel route that was cancelled, even if a customer made a mistake,” Sikiru told FIJ.

He said the airline does not care about their customers, and that their customer service is poor.

FIJ contacted Azman Air’s customer service, but was asked to send an email. At the time of publication, the company had not provided a response to our email.
