Officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command, have brutalised a reporter covering protests against Rauf Aregbesola, Minister of Interior’s Monday roadshow where shots were fired.

Toba Adedeji, Osun correspondent of The Nation, was brutalised by officers of the NSCDC at the scene of the protest, according to the newspaper.

A protest was held at the entrance of the command along Oke-Ayepe Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The protesters, under the aegis of the National Association of Osun State Students (NAOSS), carried placards inscribed with “NSCDC threatens our people in Osun,” and ”NSCDC, we are having you for peace and not to kill our people,” among others.

On Monday, Aregbesola had condemned Gbenga Oyetola, Osun State Governor, and Bola Tinubu, a national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the gubernatorial primaries in the state.
