Twitter has suspended three fake handles claiming they represent the Zenith Bank customer care service unit.

This came after FIJ’s report on how one of the accounts, @hZenithbank, was directing people to send a message to a WhatsApp number for immediate response and assistance.

FIJ had messaged the number under the disguise of a customer with banking problems to know how they work. The WhatsApp manager identified as Adenike Adeola requested the affected account number. When our reporter produced one, Adeola asked that a form be filled.

The form bore the Zenith Bank logo and requested details on the account number, complaints, the last six digits of the card attached to the account, and the card pin.

Our reporter said she was not available to fill the form, and then the handler requested directly for the card digits and pin. After providing inaccurate details, the handler stated that it was incorrect and went on to ask for the reporter’s BVN and date of birth.
