Ogechukwu Onubogo, a medical doctor in Port Harcourt, has accused First Bank of failing to credit her account with N7,000 sent to her.

Onubogo told FIJ that a point of sale (PoS) merchant transferred N7,000 to her on June 30 and was debited immediately, but she did not receive the money.

The medical doctor said she contacted First Bank via email upon confirming that the PoS merchant was debited and the bank requested her account details and that of the merchant, which she provided, but nothing happened afterwards.

“Three days after I sent them my details, the bank said nothing, so I emailed them again. This time, I copied the Central bank of Nigeria (CBN) before they replied,” she told FIJ.

“They replied to the mail stating that they credited my account with that amount on June 30. I told them it never reflected, but they insisted I recheck my account statement.”

Onubogo said she rechecked her account statement and still found nothing.

FIJ emailed First Bank for comments, but they had not responded to it at press time.
