This comes after the Nigerian smashed the world record at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, United States of America, where she returned in a time of 12.12 seconds during one of the semi-final races.

The 25-year-old Ijebu Ode-born athlete’s performance shattered America’s Kendra Harrison’s record of 12.20 seconds set in July, 2016.

By winning at the Commonwealth Games, Amusan showed that the performance in Oregon was not a fluke.
