Wallets Africa, a cross-border payment platform, has refunded N150,000 to Osamoje Aikhuele (not real name), a product manager.
This came nine days after FIJ reported that the company refused to pay Aikhuele his money despite his efforts to retrieve it.
Aikhuele had told FIJ that on July 9, he deposited N150,000 in his account with Wallets Africa but could not find the money days later.
He said that he reached out to the company several times for a solution but nothing positive came forth. According to Aikhule, until FIJ intervened, the company kept assuring him that he would be refunded but never did.

“I’d like to appreciate FIJ for taking an interest in my case with Wallets Africa. I am indeed grateful,” he said.
“The speed at which the matter was taken up and looked into is really commendable. Other journalists I approached were either taking me through the long corridor of bureaucracy or asking for compensation in return.”
