Makanjuola Olabisi, a pastor at the Revolutionary Insight Church, located at Agba Dam, Ilorin, Kwara State, was remanded by a Magistrate’s Court sitting in the state on Friday for allegedly raping three biological sisters.

According to the police, after the oldest sister rejected the pastor’s proposition to be his lover, he allegedly invited her for prayers.

Inspector Matthew Ologbonsaye, the prosecutor, informed the court that a motion exparte was filed in connection with the allegations, pleading with that the pastor be remanded pending legal advice from the state’s director of public prosecution.

FIJ learned that the accused person’s plea was not accepted by the court. Fatimah Salihu, the magistrate who heard the case, ruled that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the pastor’s plea, and ordered that the pastor be transferred to the Federal Correctional Facility, Ilorin.

The case was adjourned until September 14, 2022.
