Wallets Africa, a cross-border payment platform, has refunded N18,755 to Somtochukwu Njoku, a Lagos-based technology expert.

Njoku told FIJ that the company sent him the refund after FIJ’s August 20 report detailing how he sent N18,755 to his Wallets Africa account twice and was debited without the company fulfilling his request.

Speaking with FIJ, he said, “There has been a refund on one of the transactions. Whatever you guys did, I am very thankful. I had already kissed the money goodbye.

“I wish this can roll out to other parts of society. You guys are truly amazing.”

He said he had sent a message to their support group to process a refund of the balance.

Njoku had told FIJ that he made the transaction on July 27 in a bid to pay for a foreign material he needed, but after the transaction failed to reflect, he tried again and experienced the same result.

He said he tried reaching the company to resolve it but his attempts proved abortive.

When FIJ contacted the company, it failed to respond initially, but via its known telephone number, it later asked to be connected with Njoku.
