04.09.2022 Featured Two Bodies Recovered From Collapsed Building in Lagos

Two persons have been confirmed dead following the collapse of a seven-storey building on Sunday morning.

FIJ earlier reported that six persons were trapped under the rubble of the building.

Two of the trapped persons have been confirmed dead and their bodies recovered by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).

Ibrahim Farinloye, zonal coordinator of the agency, made the confirmation and stated that operations were still ongoing to rescue more victims trapped under the rubble.

Also, one of the apartments close to the collapse was engulfed in smoke as fire gutted it, according to the PUNCH.

However, fire fighters were quick to contain the fire before it spread to other buildings.
