Wallets Africa, a cross-border payment platform, has returned ₦60,000 to Oreofe Oladimeji (not real name), a Lagos-based computer engineer.

This came a month after FIJ reported that the company refused to pay Oladimeji his money despite his efforts to retrieve it.

Oladimeji had told FIJ that on July 27, he funded his Wallets Africa account with ₦60,000, and after converting the sum to dollars, he could not find the money in his account again. He said that he reached out to the company on several occasions but they refused to refund the money to him.

According to Oladimeji, the company kept assuring him that he would be refunded shortly but never fulfilled the promise.
