29.06.2021 news JUST IN: Court Orders DSS to Detain Nnamdi Kanu till July 26

A federal high court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to detain Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), till July 26.

According to TheCable, the court granted the order on Tuesday morning when Kanu was re-arraigned on charges bothering on treasonable felony.

Although the IPOB leader appeared in court without his lawyer, the presiding judge Binta Nyako said he is to be remanded in DSS pending the determination of his trial.

FIJ had reported how Abubakar Malami, the Attorney General of the Federation announced that Kanu had been arrested.

He is facing charges bordering on treasonable felony instituted against him at the Federal High Court in Abuja in response to years of campaign for IPOB.

He was granted bail in April 2017 for health reasons but skipped bail after flouting some of the conditions given to him by the court.
