Aero Contractors has not returned N45,500 to Maimuna Hamid, a resident of Yola, whose flight was cancelled in February.

Hamid booked a Yola-Abuja flight with the airline on January 22, and it was scheduled for February 28.

Hamid told FIJ that the flight was cancelled on February 18, ten days before her scheduled flight.

“They just sent me a message that they had cancelled the flight because of an inconvenience. I also heard that they would stop flying from Yola.”

After the flight was cancelled, Hamid went to Aero Contractors’ station at the Yola airport on February 20.

She said the official who attended to her told her to check the airline’s website and fill out a refund request form online.

“Before then, I had sent an email to them on February 18, but they did not bother to respond. That was when I decided to go to their office at the airport,” she said.

“The attendant told me to fill in the document and send it to their help desk. I filled out a refund form as instructed, but my ticket fee has not been refunded.”

She said she sent another email alongside the refund form to the airline on April 1 but had received nothing since then.

“I ended up not travelling to Abuja in February. And returning my money has been an issue for the airline. It’s really annoying,” she added.

FIJ reached out to the airline on Monday for comments on the delayed refund, but no response had been received at press time.
