IHS Towers, a telecommunications infrastructure provider, has replaced a faulty site generator in Iwo, Osun State.

This came after FIJ reported how a generator at the site had been causing noise pollution to the residents of the Federal Low Cost Housing Estate, Agbowo, Iwo Local Government Area of the state.

Lukman Abioye, whose building is located beside the mast marked as IHS_OSU_0917A, told FIJ that the company had installed a new generator.

He added that the company had also connected the site to the national grid in order to complement the operations of the generator.

“The company contacted me the day after the story was published and promised to fix the problem. I can now report that they have brought a new industrial generator,” Abioye said. “They have also connected the site to normal electricity to complement the generator in keeping the site running. Everything is now okay. I appreciate your effort so much.”

A few days after the publication on December 31, Abioye told this medium that some officials of the Osun State Ministry of Environment visited the site to assess the level of disturbance from the generator.

FIJ had reported that Abioye’s family and other residents of the area were struggling to sleep at night because the faulty generator was producing a loud noise.
