Kuda has returned N20,000 to the Ibadan-based data analyst whose account was debited for a failed transaction on October 31.
The money was reversed on Monday morning, three weeks after the incident happened and 10 days after FIJ published a report on it.
The customer said he learned about the reversal when he checked his account balance on Tuesday evening.
“When I returned from work on Tuesday evening, my mind went to the money and I checked my Kuda app only to find a N20,000 increase in my account balance,” the Kuda customer said.
“I decided to check my account statement to be sure it was the reversal and not another transaction entirely. That was when I saw that the money had been reversed since Monday.”

The earlier report by FIJ detailed how the data analyst had three failed transactions on October 31. Kuda reversed the first two transactions but withheld the last one, which was N20,000. The transactions occurred at different point of sale (PoS) terminals.
He had assumed his N20,000 would be reversed that same day, but when he contacted Kuda, he was told it would take up to seven business days before it would be resolved.
Even after the stipulated waiting period, Kuda did not return the customer’s N20,000 until FIJ’s intervention.
