Samuel Oluwagbemiga, a photography influencer on LinkedIn, has taken down the images belonging to photographers that he previously claimed rights to and issued a public apology to them and his audience.

This came four days after FIJ reported how the young photographer appropriated images taken by female photographers and claimed that they came about as a result of his virtual and remote photography sessions.

A day after the release of the report on August 26, Oluwagbemiga took down all the photos and, in the early hours of Tuesday, released a statement on his LinkedIn page.

OLUWAGBEMIGA’s STATEMENT

“Been a while here. Things got quite messy and all. To my fellow photographers, whom I claimed the rights to their photos, I’m really sorry; making your personal projects mine is way beyond.

“I had to run more than nature. I got quite frustrated, and I’m sorry once again.

“To my beloved audience, who trusted me so well. I’m so sorry for making the wrong choice. I can tell you I’m here to turn a new leaf.

“Notwithstanding, I can go on and on about how virtual and remote photography is real. I’m here to prove that this brand is real, and we will be building it back on trust. Thanks y’all.”
