A Lagos-based journalist has accused Air Peace of withholding his N153,400 for four months despite numerous attempts to reclaim it.
Preferring to be anonymous, the journalist disclosed to FIJ that despite multiple calls and emails to the airline, his efforts to retrieve his money had been fruitless, often met with silence.
Detailing the sequence of events with Air Peace, he explained that on October 7, he paid N153,400 for a Lagos-Anambra round trip. Complications arose after he paid, which have yet to be resolved, thus preventing him from flying with the airline.

Before making the payment, Air Peace instructed him to deposit the flight fare into a Fidelity Bank account, which he did via an ATM, and his bank debited the amount immediately after the transaction appeared successful on the ATM screen.
“After I met Air Peace the same day I paid, they claimed they had not received a confirmation of my payment. I waited for a while before I booked another flight, yet I have not got a confirmation,” the journalist told FIJ.

“Air Peace told me they had issues with Fidelity Bank that same day, which was why I was patient, but later on, they asked me to go to my bank. And when I did, they informed me that the transaction was successful.
“I have waited for many more days now, but I still do not have my money. Air Peace keeps giving me the runaround by assuring me every day that they will get back to me. It is over four months now, and I am still begging for my money.”
FIJ contacted Air Peace for comments on the matter via email, but the airline had not responded at press time.
