Manipulated videos appearing to show Kayode Okikiolu, a news anchor and reporter at Channels TV, promoting several products have surfaced on the internet.

The videos are extracted from real news reports and altered to appear as though the reporter is promoting health products or games.

On Tuesday, Okikiolu disavowed the videos on his X handle, @KayodeOkikiolu, and warned the public against falling prey to the schemes.

He shared a 47-second clip in which he denied responsibility for them, saying, “I want to tell you that all of those videos are scams. Please do not fall for it. They are AI-generated videos; they use my image and voice to simulate all their adverts. Please do not fall for it.”

It is not the first time such scheme has been perpetrated. FIJ earlier reported how a similar scheme was executed using the face of Chinonso Egemba, a doctor and media personality popularly known as Aproko Doctor.

The video borrowed clips from previous Aproko Doctor videos and a TVC reporter to market a drug.
