Elvis Abuzugbe, an entrepreneur, has accused Arik Air of refusing to refund his ticket fee for over two months.

Abuzugbe said he paid N50,000 for a flight from Abuja to Warri in March but Arik cancelled it, and since then, he has got no refund.

“I booked three flights on that day. The first two airlines, including Arik, cancelled their flights. I finally got on a flight after booking with a third airline,” Abuzugbe told FIJ on Wednesday.

“They just cancelled the flight without prior notice after delaying us for hours. The airline told us to go to their desk for a refund of our ticket fees. They told us to send a mail, but no one answered our calls.

“I sent countless emails, but they hardly responded. Whenever they responded, they kept saying that they were processing the refund.

“This is not the first time something like this is happening and I am not the only one. Arik does not refund. Even when you ask for the ticket to be used for another flight they will insist that they are already on the refund process. But should their refund process take a whole year?”

“These people are just scamming us and using our money to gather funds. They are not rendering services and they are taking money,” Abuzugbe said.

When FIJ contacted Arik Air, they directed our reporter to their refund department. The department did not answer calls, and an email sent to them had not been responded to at press time.
