A band of armed robbers attacked Wema Bank and Access Bank branches in Ikere-Ekiti, Ikere Local Government Area of Ekiti State, on Wednesday.

FIJ has seen videos from the town showing the blown-up entrance of one of the bank branches.

“A customer called us and told us that there was a robbery in Ikere. We closed immediately afterwards. Firsthand information from the residents of Ikere was that the robbers attacked a Wema Bank first, and then moved to attack an Access Bank branch,” a banker in Ekiti told FIJ.
