Eze Victor, an athlete, has narrated how his iPhone13 Pro Max was stolen from a parcel delivered to the Express Mail Service (EMS), an arm of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), on Thursday.
In a series of tweets, Victor stated that his wife had sent him a package from the US on March 16. On Thursday, he went to the NIPOST office in Asaba, Delta State, to claim the package. Upon his arrival at the office, officials told him that his parcel arrived torn, and that an iPhone 13 Pro Max registered by the EMS (in America) was declared stolen.
“After waiting for over two weeks for an international parcel sent by my wife since the 16th of march to arrive, I got a call from NIPOST/EMS yesterday, asking me to come pick it up,” he wrote. “On getting to NIPOST office in Asaba, I was told that there was a discrepancy.”

“I was told that there was a discrepancy in one of my parcels and I was given a letter handwritten by an EMS Nigeria official claiming that my parcel arrived torn and that the iPhone 13 pro max which was declared by EMS America to be in the box wasn’t found in it.”
After the company handed Victor a handwritten letter confirming the theft, he was instructed to write the head office for a solution.
“When I got to the office, I was given a handwritten letter saying they could not find the phone,” he told FIJ. “They asked me to write a letter to their head office in Lagos for a solution.”
FIJ contacted EMS Nigeria but the line did not connect. A message sent to the line had also not been responded to at press time.
