The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Tuesday for the supplementary governorship election in Anambra State, after declaring Saturday’s exercise inconclusive.
According to Professor Florence Danku Obi, the INEC Returning Officer, the supplementary election will hold in Ihiala Local Government Area of the state, where voting exercise was not conducted.
The electoral panel had earlier decided that the election would remain inconclusive until the results from Ihiala are added to the remaining 20 LGAs.
Obi said the supplementary election will hold on Tuesday, November 9, across 326 polling units of the Ihiala.
She noted that the election did not hold in Ihiala due to security threats that prompted the absence of electoral personnel.
