Two suicide bombers have died in a Tuesday attack on Winners School, Aba road, Sabon Gari, Kano State. The bomb attack left many pupils injured.

The men, suspected to be in their late 20s, detonated a bomb that exploded inside the school, and caused a building beside it to collapse, FIJ can report.

Confirming the incident, the founder of the school, describing herself as Madam Winners, told FIJ that the bomb attack happened in the early hours of the day.

She said the attackers were burnt beyond recognition, but the total number of casualties were yet to be ascertained.

“It’s true o. It is a bomb; it is a bomb!” She said, panting. “Some people lost their lives; some people were injured, those that made the attempt, and those in a building beside our own.

She told FIJ that she was trying to make efforts to locate affected children.

In one of the video clips obtained by FIJ, which cannot be posted because of its gory nature, people can be seen cursing the lifeless bodies of the suspected bombers. “You no go die well. You no go rest in peace,” someone says.

”It is a bomb blast. See schoolchildren,” says an onlooker in another clip.

One of the lifeless bodies in the footage is the almost completely damaged body of a man suspected of detonating the bomb.

When FIJ contacted Abdullahi Haruna, the Kano police spokesperson, he declined comment and hung up our reporter’s call. However, Sama’ila Dikko, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, said the occurrence was a gas and not a bomb explosion.
