One of the commuters told FIJ she was stranded because the new bank notes were unavailable.

“I can’t get to my destination because the commercial drivers are rejecting the old notes,” she told FIJ.
“Even the Lagos state BRT buses are also unavailable. Sadly, if I must commute, I have to rely on them.”
Another commuter, an elderly man dressed in a blue three-piece suit, said he was on the verge of missing a seminar he was expected to moderate for a lack of cash.
“I am about to miss my meeting. I am the resource person and I am not getting anywhere,” he said.
“I can’t use other options because of the cash scarcity; I have to rely on the BRT cowry card.”
