The Delta State Police Command has said it would probe two policemen and a constabulary for attacking residents of the state with a knife and other blunt weapons.
Bright Edafe, spokesman of the police in the state, said Friday that the police had identified its men caught on camera perpetrating the act.
His statement seen by FIJ read, “The erring police officers have been identified and summoned to the Police headquarters.

“The officer who brought out that knife is not a police officer but a Constabulary. They have been detained, and their orderly room trail will commence today.”
This statement was in reaction to a viral video in which three uniformed men can be seen flogging and hitting unarmed civilians. The constabulary draws a knife and threatens to stab the yet-to-be-identified civilians with it.

He says, “You de craze, you de whine me? I will kill you here,” as he swings a leg and brings one of the unarmed men down.
Edafe described this constabulary as a civilian aiding the police in that region, and said he was not a full member of the police force in the state.
This is the second time in a week the police would publicly put its men on trial for abuse of power. On Thursday, three other policemen were dismissed for firing bullets into the air in Kano.
