Rachael Sanusi (not real name), an Oyo State resident, has detailed how Alexander Roseline, the CEO of Spread Hope Edu Travels and “international student consultant,” refused to make an £8,500 refund to her after failing to render a work visa service she was paid for.

Sanusi told FIJ that Roseline, who is also known as Aleroseline on Instagram, received a £9,000 payment meant for United Kingdom work visa documents from her on December 22, 2023.

The Oyo resident added that Roseline had asked her to make the payment into a GBP account belonging to one Chika Onwunbiko.

“After receiving the £9,000 payment, she said she would work on the documents and that they would be ready within three weeks,” said Sanusi in an interview with FIJ.

“The three-week period she told me eventually elapsed but she would not send the documents to me as promised. Despite this, I did not immediately call her to ask for an update. I decided to give her more time.

“When I still did not hear from her after six weeks, however, I decided to reach out to her and demand an update. I called her on several occasions, but she would not respond to my calls.

“When she would not speak to me over the phone, I reached out to her via her Instagram business page. That was when she said she would no longer be able to assist me with the documents needed and that I should send her an account number she could send the refund to.”

Chat Between Sanusi and Roseline

Sanusi told FIJ that, despite Roseline’s promise of a full refund, she only refunded £500.

“After this, I continued asking her to tell me when she would refund the remaining £8,500, but she would not respond to me. I then later found out that she had even blocked me on WhatsApp.

“She has refused to give me back the £8,500 and has also chosen not to communicate when I will get it. It is now even more difficult to know whether I will ever get the money back because she has blocked me from communicating with her.”

FIJ made several phone calls to Roseline for comments on the matter on Wednesday, but she did not answer them. At a point, she ended the call while the phone line was still ringing.

The text message that was subsequently sent to her on the same day was also not responded to.

When the same text was sent to her WhatsApp line, the only response FIJ got was an irrelevant automated message:
