Ajayi Olalekan, a Lagos-based civil servant, and Ayedero Olalekan not real surname), have joined the list of victims of Ola Ayorinde’s fraudulent Cartdealsng investment scheme.
While the latter invested N400,000, Ajayi, who is her sister, coughed up N600,000 to the scheme.
Speaking with FIJ on Thursday, Ajayi said she was ignored by Ayorinde after she invested in her company in January 2021.
She was supposed to receive N30,000 for six months, and get her capital the sixth month. “I started getting a series of emails from them,” she said. “However, Ayorinde promised that only the capital would be refunded.”

Ajayi said Ayorinde told investors that only 30 percent of their capital would be returned in installments. “But, to date, I have only received N70,000. She sent N40,000 at a point and I got N30,000 on May 19, 2021,” she said.
Similarly, Ayedero received N60,000 out of the N400,000 she invested, her sister, Ajayi, revealed.
Responding to Ayorinde’s statement that investors should walk into her store to carry bags for reselling, Ajayi said, “I never gave her bags to invest; I will never collect bags in place of my money.
“She even told us not to shout whenever we want to walk in to carry the bags, so we won’t cause a scene. I know the bag gallery, but I won’t go there.”
