The Abuja division of the Court of Appeal has affirmed the election of Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State.

The court dismissed the appeal filed by Sai’du Umar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for failure to successfully prove his allegations against Aliyu in the suit marked CA/S/EP/GOV/SK/30/2023.

The PDP candidate had lost out at the tribunal on September 30, when a three-man panel resolved all the six grounds of the petition against him.
