Mohammed Inuwa, a Lagos-based consultant, has joined the list of customers accusing Afialink International, an auto company, of duping them.

Mohammed told FIJ that the company took N1.280 million from him for a 2009 Pontiac Vibe in April 2021, and another N1.570 million for the upgrade of the Pontiac Vibe to a 2015 Honda Accord but he got nothing in the end.

He said he made the initial payment to an account belonging to Lordbex International Company Ltd., which was provided by Chukwunyere Josiah, Afialink’s manager.

“Afialink Int’l kept apologising for the delay and promised to deliver soon. After an initial six months of waiting and making trouble, Afialink wanted to replace the Pontiac Vibe with an older model, but I refused since that wasn’t the agreement between us,” he said.

“It was while they were still promising and failing that I saw another car, a 2015 Honda Accord, in February. It was priced at N2.850 million, so I paid an additional N1.570 million.

“I paid for it with the hope that it would get me respite since the Pontiac Vibe wasn’t forthcoming.”

He said after paying an additional N1.570 million to the same account provided by Josiah, the manager stopped answering his calls.

When contacted, Josiah said he did not know any customer with the name. “Please, kindly ask him to send the picture of the car and a payment receipt for identification.
