One Ahmad Sultan has been convicted for forging some documents in a bid to defraud a Somalian of $4,661.

Sultan will spend the next four years in prison.

According to a tweet by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 4, Sultan tried to scam the Somalian by pretending to secure a United Nations (UN) job for him.

Justice Hadiza Suleiman, who presided over a Kano State high court, on April 4, 2023, convicted and sentenced him for offences bordering on conspiracy and forgery.

“Upon arraignment, Emmanuel pleaded guilty and was convicted by the court. Sultan, on the other hand, pleaded not guilty thereby forcing the case to proceed to trial.

“However, when the matter came up for trial today, Sultan somersaulted and pleaded guilty to the charges against him.”
