Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Force Public Relations Officer, has threatened an individual with prosecution over a comment on X (previously Twitter).

Adejobi threatened @HommiesDrey with prosecution after he made a claim about Nigeria’s inspectors general of police (IGPs).

“Living and late Criminals from the most corrupt civil organisation in the entire multiverse. Ire ooo!” @HommiesDrey had posted under the PRO’s tweet celebrating living and dead indigenous IGPs.

“You will repeat it with evidence soon. It’s a matter of time,” Adejobi responded.

“He needs to prove that all the past IGPs are corrupt or criminals. It’s a simple thing. He should know that the only court that has jurisdiction over the Cybercrime Prohibition Act (offences) is the Federal High Court,” Adejobi continued in a separate post.

Another post from Adejobi read:

“He who alleges must prove. Cybercrime Prohibition Act, 2015 on my mind. Ire oo.”

Most of the Nigerians who responded to Adejobi did not take his post lightly.

Many criticised him and the police force for targeting citizens on a whim. Others reminded the FPRO that the police turned a blind eye to more obvious threats and sinister claims in the past.

“Take it (as) a joke, sir. The same way you took Mc Oluomo‘s b!gotry talk,” Balatic responded.

“Typical police intimidation to grieving citizens speaking their minds, whilst IBD Dende walks free! Was Usman Alkali Baba, the immediate past IGP, not sentenced to prison?” Winston Adaete, a trader, replied to Adejobi.

Another X user told Adejobi to deal with Bright Edafe, the Delta Police Public Relations Officer, first.

Edafe had tweeted in January 2016 about the fraudulent and dishonest promotions in the police force.

After his past tweets were revealed, he deleted the new one.
