Okereke Okafor (not real name), an Ibadan resident, has accused Pastor Godswill Oyor, the founder of Zedekiah Money Train, of scamming her out of N1 million.
Okafor told FIJ she had exercised patience with the pastor since her investment reached maturity but he would neither take her calls nor communicate with her.
Recounting how she got entangled with Pastor Godswill, she said an acquaintance who had informed her of the pastor in 2021 vouched for his integrity the second time in June 2022, when she was ready to invest in any venture.
She said she contacted Pastor Godswill on June 6, 2022, after her meeting with the acquaintance, and introduced herself as someone who wanted to invest in his business venture.
The pastor, Okafor said, assured her he would give people who invested with his company a 21 percent interest, and that the investment cycle was 90 days.

Okafor stated that the pastor sent her a Zoom link to a recorded video conference in which he explained what the investment was about.
“He also sent me a message containing the account number of the company. So, I paid N500,000 to his account,” Okafor told FIJ.
She said Pastor Godswill spoke to her in July 2022 about another package she could invest in, called ‘Autocruise’, which she invested in with N500,000 in July.
“Before I invested, he told me that the lowest amount I could invest with was N1 million, but I had to plead with him to let me join the cohort of investors because I could not afford a million naira at the time,” she said.
She said that in September, when the first investment had reached maturity, Pastor Godswill began to act strange and stopped taking her calls.
“He began to feign forgetfulness about Autocruise in September. Ever since, he has stopped taking my calls, a habit he did not exhibit until then,” she said.
She said she physically visited the address Pastor Godswill paraded as the office address and found out they had left the office space since August 2022.
Okafor said he visited Pastor Godswill’s church on January 6 but did not meet him there because the police had arrested him.

According to her, a lady in the church told him the police trailed Pastor Godswill to his house a few days before the new year of 2023 and arrested him.
“Apparently, just like he did to me, he ignored this ‘powerful’ couple’s calls, and I guess that was what led to his incarceration up till now,” Okafor said.
“In the midst of his rude silence, there were mail exchanges by unverifiable and probably fake lawyers who appeared to want to start a payout in bits.”
FIJ called Pastor Godswill Oyor on his line, but it did not connect. He had not responded to a text sent to his phone at press time.
FIJ also called a former staff member of Zedekiah Money Train, but they said they did not know Pastor Godswill’s whereabouts.
