Niger State has the highest number of casualties with 31 persons abducted and 48 killed. Zamfara recorded 38 deaths.

In one week, 16 persons were killed in Katsina, five in Kaduna and another five injured in the state. Bauchi has the least number with two abducted persons.

Insecurity in the north is a growing concern as attacks on local communities and kidnappings have distablised communities.

Northern Nigeria is, however, not the only part of the country feeling the heat of insecurity. Southern states also have a long record of gunmen attacks and abductions.
