Some thugs assaulted Labour Party (LP) agents at the Alimosho collation centre in Ikotun on Sunday, FIJ can report.

Videos of LP agents calling for help are flooding social media after hoodlums physically assaulted some of them inside Technical College, Ikotun, Lagos.

A political party representative at the centre, who simply identified himself as Abiodun, told FIJ that the reports were true.

“Yes, it is true. I am at Technical College, Ikotun, where we are waiting to collate the election results for Alimosho. They were thugsh. They were beating Labour Party agents,” Abiodun told FIJ.

“Some officers have come in to arrest the thugs. We are still waiting for collation to start. Everywhere is calm now.”

Abiodun could not tell FIJ why the thugs assaulted the LP representatives.

Officers of the Nigerian Army were at the entrance of the collation centre when this reporter got there on Sunday afternoon.

The soldiers diverted all road traffic to only one lane of the Ikotun-Isheri road. An armoured van waited in the middle of the road with about 10 soldiers.
