Kenny Osita Okolie, a Nigerian based in Houston, Texas, United States of America, has been declared wanted by the Burglary and Theft Division of the Houston Police Department on two counts of felony and theft by Swindle.
Between December 2018 and October 2021, Okolie, 43, allegedly presented himself as a licensed auction auto dealer to two unsuspecting victims, taking money from them, and eventually failing to deliver the vehicles they wanted to buy from him.

According to a tweet and printed fliers made by Crime Stoppers, a non-profit organisation dedicated to preventing and solving crimes in the Greater Houston Area, Okolie is also wanted for several outstanding warrants.
The group offered $5,000 as reward for anyone with information that could lead to his arrest.
In the state of Texas, theft becomes a felony when an object or property valued at $2,500 or more has been taken through true deceitful means, or if the alleged offender has prior theft convictions.

The offence would however attract a misdemeanour charge if it does not meet any of the instances stated above.
The punishment for a state jail felony theft can include a fine of no more than $10,000, imprisonment ranging from 180 days to two years, or both.
