Victoria Nuland, US Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, has admitted that there are US-funded biolabs in Ukraine, just as Russia has continued its invasion of the country.
Nuland gave this confirmation while testifying before a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on Ukraine in Washington DC, on March 8.
“Ukraine has biological research facilities, which in fact we are now quite concerned Russian troops, Russian forces may be seeking to gain control of,” Nuland said.

“We are working with the Ukrainians on how they can prevent any of those research materials from falling into the hands of Russian forces should they approach.”
The undersecretary stated that the United States was working with Ukraine to prevent invading Russian forces from seizing biological research materials from the lab.
She further added that the State Department was concerned that Russian forces were trying to gain control of the biological research facilities within Ukraine.
This comes after Russian defence ministry’s claim that they had found evidence of US-funded biolabs in Ukraine and that they had urgently destroyed samples of deadly pathogens following the invasion of Ukraine.

It also confirms Russia’s foreign ministry’s March 6 tweet that its forces found evidence that Kyiv was eradicating traces of the military-biological program in Ukraine, financed by the Pentagon.

In a very recent update, Russia has opened humanitarian corridors for the Ukrainian civilians to leave the besieged areas.
According to the United Nations, about 2 million Ukrainians have fled the country, making it the fastest exodus Europe has seen since World War II.
