25.02.2022 Featured 13-Year-Old Boy Dies After Rape by Security Guard in Edo

Jeffery Ugiagbe, a 13 year-old died on Thursday, after Ovie Oktogbo, a security guard, raped him in the Ugbowo area of Edo State.

Ugiagbe was reported to have fallen sick and thereafter told his parents that Oktogbo forcefully had anal sex with him. Upon medical examination, some of the teenager’s organs were discovered to have been damaged.

In a video seen by FIJ, the family of the deceased mourn the teenager’s death. The deceased’s parents demanded justice and asked for donations to pay off the debt the family had incurred to pay Ugiagbe’s medical bills.

“I want Ovie Oktogbo sentenced to death, not life imprisonment. Presently, I am in debt. I am owing close to three million,” the deceased’s father said.

Ugiagbe was Oktogbo’s ninth victim. “I have raped nine boys. The boy lives in my area,” Oktogbo says in the video.

Bello Kontong, Edo State’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO) confirmed that Ugiagbe died on Thursday, and said Oktogbo had been charged to court.
