12.03.2022 Journalism ’79 Children Killed in Russia-Ukraine War’

Iryna Venediktova, the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, said that 79 children have been killed by Russian attackers since February 24.

In a tweet on Saturday, Venediktova accused the Putin-led Russian government of committing war crimes by targeting Ukraine’s civilian population and infrastructure.

She said, “79 children have been killed and more than 100 injured during the war in Ukraine. Every death and injury will be documented, investigated by juvenile prosecutors and we will do our best to bring to justice each war criminal”.

Russia has been repeatedly accused of attacking civilians and shelling several civilian infrastructure. The city square in Kharkiv, a shoe factory in Dnipro, residential buildings in Sumy and Mariupol, and a children’s hospital in Kyiv are some of the civilian areas confirmed to have been hit by Russian attacks.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine’s President, and Venediktova have announced that these attacks would be documented and treated as war crimes.

Russian War Crimes Against Children in Ukraine

Ukraine is currently compiling war crimes on a website and intends to litigate after the conflict ends.
