Bright Ezeaka, a Delta-based point of sales business attendant, has detailed how Zenith bank, a financial institution, failed to reverse a N20,000 debit transaction he made after it failed.

Speaking with FIJ, Ezeaka said he had attempted to withdraw the sum from an Access bank automated teller machine when the machine failed to process his transaction. He said he was instantly debited despite the unsuccessful transaction.

“On July 20, I wanted to withdraw money from Zenith bank’s ATM but none of their machines was dispensing cash. I moved to the nearest ATM, which was an Access bank, and attempted to withdraw N20,000. The transaction was declined but I was debited,” he told FIJ.

“Ever since, Zenith Bank has refused to reverse the transaction even after visiting their branch and reporting the issue to them numerous times.”

Ezeaka stated that the sum being held onto by Zenith bank is his pay for the month as a point of sales agent.

“I am a POS sales agent and the N20,000 Zenith bank has failed to refund is my salary. They have been holding onto it for more than three months now.

“They keep holding the money despite chatting with their customer service on Facebook and filling a reversal form at the bank.”

FIJ sent an email to Zenith bank for comments, but they were yet to respond at press time.
