Suleiman Babachir Lawal, a tweep who accused Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing (IVM), an automobile firm in Nigeria, of producing low-grade vehicles has issued a rebuttal, saying his phone was “stolen” and “someone mischievously” used it to post damaging stories on social media.

Lawal, a member of the logistics subcommittee of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, claimed that the tweets made via his Twitter handle, @Hyelasakda, was the “handiwork of political detractors who wanted to create enmity between me and my South East political associates”.

The young politician was, however, silent on whether it was his political detractors who deleted his Twitter account after his criticism was met with social media backlash.

“I am aware INNOSON VEHICLES has received certifications from international organisations, including Standard Organization (SON) and has met the MANCAP Certification of quality.

“Innoson vehicles are being used by various security agencies that have assisted in the fight against both the insurgents in the northeast and the bandits in many parts of the country.

IVM retweeted the politician’s rebuttal on Twitter some on Thursday.
