A group of bandits that attacked the Afaka barracks of the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna early on Tuesday morning held some officers to ransom, FIJ has learnt.

The bandits invaded the residential area of the barracks around 1am and killed two personnel. One other officer sustained an injury.

FIJ learnt the bandits were able to stage their escape after holding some of the Naval officers to ransom for long hours.

“It was a terrible experience, the bandits took advantage of the time when most people had gone to bed to attack the barrack,” a source told Daily Trust

“Right now, the whole barracks is under lock and key and security has been beefed up.”
